He is in the VA hospital in San Antonio. They are getting set up with hospice. Josie reports that their two grown daughters and their son are there and spending time with Smiley. Smiley was a platoon RTO in the third platoon of bravo company. He was badly wounded on July 13, 1969. He was evacuated to the states and spent many months at Brooke Army hospital in San Antonio. He is a retired letter carrier from the post office. Please include Smiley, Josie , and their children in your prayers. tom | | | | | |

I served there from July '70 until March '71 when Charlie Company, 3rd of the 1st, Americal Division, ran into a booby trap and I lost my right leg.
